Enchanted Jungle

The sounds of the birds,
Echo through the trees,
Where they are perched,
I cannot see…

The hoot of the owl,
Calling out in the night,
Sends chills through my spine,
And creates such a fright…

The roar of the mountain lion,
Sounds as if he is nearby,
He may run if he sees me,
But he is not shy…

The croaking of the frogs,
At the shining rivers shore,
Are sweet and calming,
As the tenderness of the outdoors…

The squirrels and the ground hogs,
Sound their mating calls,
It’s the time of year,
To catch a mate as the night falls…

God’s creatures surround me,
They are here and there,
I can hear them,
But I know not where…
